  • Zhangqian

    Zhang Qian (164 BC -- 114 BC)was an outstanding explorer, traveler and diplomat in the Han Dynasty, who made significant contributions to the development of the Silk Road and who was called the pioneer of the silk road and the Columbus in the east.
  • Fa Xian

    Fa Xian (334 -- 420) was a famous monk in the history of Buddhism in China, an innovator in Buddhism, the first master to study Buddhism abroad, a distinguished traveler and Buddhism translator. The book , Record of The Buddhistic Kingdoms written by him, provided important information for the study of the ancient history of the sub-continent countries.
  • Kumarajiva

    Kumarajiva (344-413A.D.) was a monk, Buddhist, philosopher and translator of later Qin Dynasty (384-417A.D.).He is one of the four major Buddhism translators in China, together with Xuan Zang, Bu Kong and Zhen Di. He was the founder of translation studies and the master of linguistics.
  • Xuan Zang

    Xuan Zang (602 ~ 664) was a famous monk in Tang dynasty( 618-907A.D.), who was the founder of Dharma Xiangzong. He went alone to India to study Buddhism and brought many Buddhism classics to China.Together with Kumarajiva and Zhendi ,they are well known as the major three translators of Chinese Buddhism.
  • Marco Polo

    Marco Polo (1254—1324) was a world famous traveler and businessman from Italy in the 13th century. It took him more than four years to reach the Mongol Empire.He spent 17 years in China, visiting many of the ancient cities of China, including Yunnan in the southwest and the southeast.
  • Zhenghe

    Zheng He (1371-1433) was a eunuch of the Ming Dynasty(1368-1644). He was a famous Chinese navigator and diplomat in the Ming Dynasty.From 1405 to 1433, Zheng He made seven voyages to the Western Seas, accomplishing great feats in human history.
